Submit the application online by submitting the last amendment fee.
Before submitting the National Identity Card correction application, care should be taken to upload the required documents for the correction sought. Attested documents to prove the authenticity of the information you want to change in your voter application must be submitted along with the application.

Rules for Amending Voter ID Card
To amend voter ID card online you first need to register an account on the NID website by filling in your NID Number, date of birth and a security captcha. Then login account by face verification. Submit the application by changing the required information by clicking on the edit button in your profile.

Step1: Account Registration
To register on National Identity Card website first visit https://services.nidw.gov.bd/nid-pub/ on the website. Account should be created by verifying voter ID card number, date of birth, address, mobile number.
Provide voter ID information
At this stage of account creation, the person who wants to change the NID Card information has to fill the form with the National Identity Card number, date of birth. If you do not know the NID card number, you can use the voter slip form number.
Address Verification of National Identity Card
If the voter ID card information is filled correctly, now you will be asked to verify the address of the National Identity Card. Current and permanent address should be given exactly as given in voter ID card application.
Mobile number verification
The first few digits and the last 3 digits of the mobile number given on the ID card will be shown. If you have this mobile number, press the “Send Message” button to send the code. If the phone number is not there, give a new number.
Once the 6-digit verification code is sent to your mobile, put it in the verification code field and press “Submit”. Once the number verification is done, you will be taken to face verification.
Face Verification
In the last step of account registration, enter the profile by doing Face Verification through NID Wallet App. Scan the QR Code displayed on the website to perform face verification.
Face in NID wallet app When the scan starts, the person whose voter ID is to be corrected has to move his face from right to left to complete the account registration. Through this national identity card is verified so that only the original customer of the nid card can access the account.
After the Face Verification step is completed you will be asked to set your account password. You can give password if you want, skip it if you don’t want. The advantage of giving a password here is that you don’t need to do the verification again when logging into your account later. Login can be done with national identity card number and password.
Step2: Correction of voter ID information
After successfully completing the account registration step, you are now logged in to nid website. Go to Profile tab from Home. The revision of National Identity Card is divided into 3 main categories.

Correction of personal information
You can correct your name (Bangla and English), date of birth, parent’s name in the personal information correction list. The information that can be changed under Personal Information Amendment is:
- Person’s Own Name (Bangla)
- Person’s Own Name (English)
- Change date of birth
- Birth Registration Number
- Gender
- place of birth
- Father Name Correction (Bangla)
- Voter ID card number of father
- Mother Name Correction (Bangla)

To change or correct one or more information in this list, click on the “Edit” button from the Personal Information tab.

By rechecking the correction data
A summary of the information you are about to change will appear. This step will show you a list of what was previously on your National Identity Card and the correction information you want. Now check it and hit next button.

Step3: Transaction / Fee Payment

Currently amendment fees can be paid using Bkash, Rocket and Cash accounts. You can deposit the National Identity Card amendment fee only through the mobile banking account you have.
National ID card correction fee submission rules
National ID card correction fee can be submitted from any mobile banking account. Deposits can be made using Vikas, Rocket and Cash. As the Bikash account is more popular in Bangladesh, the voter ID correction fee deposit is shown in Bikash.
Payment of National Identity Card correction fee in Bikash
To pay NID Correction Fee through Bkash first login to Bkash app. Select the Pay Bills option from the development dashboard. Then select NID Service from Government Fees. Make payment with application form and ID card number.
By selecting the type of correction, Bkash app will show you how much you have to pay. If you have enough money in your bkash then click on pay button with bkash pin and the payment will be done. Once the payment is made here, the money will be credited to your account on the NID website.
Step4: Upload required documents
How to upload required documents to prove the information you are going to apply for change of ID card. The most effective proof for correcting personal information is a certificate of educational qualification, passport or driving license. Along with that online birth registration certificate has to be uploaded.
If you want to change the spelling of your father’s name, you have to upload a scan copy of your parents’ ID card and a scan copy of your brother’s ID card. Copy of electricity bill or any utility bill should be uploaded when applying for change of address.
Once the voter ID card correction application is submitted, you can download the correction form if you want. This application form may be required to collect your revised ID card from the local election commission office once the application is approved. But to Download National Identity Card online no correction form is required.
Step5: Download revised ID card
If your National Identity Card correction application is successfully submitted and uploaded along with the appropriate documents, the application is approved within a maximum of 45 days. The amendment application is usually approved within 3 weeks.
If your application is approved, you will be notified by phone message. Then you can download it online and use it by laminating. If you want you can collect your revised voter ID card from Upazila Election Commission office.
Change of Voter ID Card Address
Application for change of address in National Identity Card cannot be made online. To change the address, fill the Electoral Area Transfer Form and submit it to the election office. This change of address form is called Form No. 13.
Address on National Identity Card can be easily changed if there is proper reason and proof of change of constituency. How long the voter has been living at the previous address, the reason for the area to which the voter is transferring is to be mentioned in the application form.

While there is an option to change/correct almost all information in the National Identity Card online, the matter of changing the constituency remains offline now. To change the voter area, the Voter Area Migration Form should be filled and submitted to the election commission office of the area in which you want to be a voter.
Migration Form should be filled and the local election office should be accompanied with reason/certificate of voter area change. Job Posting Latter must be submitted along with the application form if the constituency wants to change due to change of residence or job transfer.
